Anglers Tonic on Pacific Salmon Populations
Here is a cool article from Greg Thomas over at Anglers Tonic regarding the growing controversy in Salmon management in the Pacific. Always a great ear to the ground regarding environmental impacts of industry and development Thomas' devotes special attention to Salmon and Steelhead news in the northwest. This article focuses on a study regarding increasing competition between populations of hatchery raised fish and native Salmon species. While long considered to be a unlimited resource for fish production it now seems that not all species thrive when total fish numbers increase. The article can be found here:
